Home Home Invite not working

Hello,

I'm trying to setup an iPad to serve as a control for my house and stereo. I set up a new Apple ID just for it, and sent an invite from my home app on my phone to the new Apple ID I setup on the iPad.

The invite is never received.

I've tried everything I can think on.
All software is up to date.
I log out and in on the iPad.
I restart my home hub Apple TV.

I send an invite from my iPhone's home app again and again, cancel it again and again, but nothing is ever received on my iPad.

Any suggestions?

Try signing out of iCloud on both devices and then signing in again.

If you mean you are trying to set your iPad up as the Home hub, they are no longer supported. You need an Apple TV or a HomePod.

I think they want to use their iPad as a shared home control access device. The Apple TV is the hub.

Aahh yes you’re right. I misread the OPs post

so I tried a bunch of aimless stuff... signing out, signing in, unplugging the HomePod mini, the old Apple TV, taking them off the accounts, reseting them... just aimless mindless ape like resetting...

UNTIL IT WORKED.

I should work in IT?
