Right, just wander what the my best solution for network storage is,

I need:
  • 100mbps Ethernet
  • Firewire (could get away with USB2)
  • User accouts, and a public aera with limitable space
  • MacOS X, Win2000/XP, linux accessibility

A low power stand alone device would be perfect, but nowhere can i find what they can do? can i setup accounts on them? or is everything only accessible via 1 username/pass?

Or am i better off making a small linux box with a couple of HDDs?

i would go with a linux box if you need raid, and sophisticated off site access to the hard drives.
