Great movie! I loved it, and yeah a little undertone in that whole movie, really glad he was a professional haha.

Anyways ichat conference drive-in.. It's on at some point.

Yeah I heard a lot about Leon the Professional. He's on my Netflix queue.

You can show movies over iChat? How?

I don't know if you can do it right over iChat with that share a file thing, but a few of us could all go in a chatroom or video chat with a movie playing in the browser that I could host on my server.

I returned home a little while ago from my symphony rehearsal (the big show is tomorrow night!) so I am just chilling for another hour or so on Teh Interweb™. After a long day at work (a long week actually, since it's my first week back in over a month) and a long rehearsal tonight, I'm going to be hitting the sack pretty soon. No partying for me tonight! :D

Which symphony do you play with?

17 and alone on a friday night? :(
Well watching movies is a good start. Wait no, scratch that. Pick up a copy of anything by Philip K. Dick and then watch the crappy movie it inspired.

The Regina Symphony Orchestra - the longest continually performing orchestra in all of Canada and one of the top ones in the country! We are very fortunate to have the calibre of musicians which we do here. Next year is our 100th year, so we're going to be playing some massive works which I am very much looking forward to.

What do you play? And, how was the big show tonight?

I play clarinet. :) The show was exhausting but great - some demanding pieces on the program tonight. I really enjoy playing though, so it's all good. It's a nice contrast to my day job (Electronics Engineer/Project Manager for an ISP) as it exercises the other side of my brain. ;) That coupled with acting, soccer, backpacking and some day trading makes for a very diverse and thus exciting life I must say! I'm a very busy guy, but no complaints - gotta get as much out of life as possible.

Of course! I am always jealous of people who can play music. I'd love to learn piano, and re-pick up guitar. The only thing is no one in my family can play anything and we don't have a piano so I couldn't really play.

I also did acting in high school and it was really demanding plus track, and work, and everything else so I know what you mean about being busy! Glad to hear another person trying to get the most out of life.

Sounds good dude. I am also a clarinet player (although admittedly I haven't played in a while). I enjoy playing jazz rather than more classical/orchestral pieces.

Absolutely, as I said, I really enjoy it and always like to be busy and challenged - but in a good way! ;) :D

I've played some jazz as well, but unfortunately there isn't as much opportunity (at least here) to do so when it comes to clarinet. Last night was a good example of the exception though, as we performed West Side Story and Rhapsody in Blue for some variety - a nice departure from the norm. Next concert though it's back to the usual!

I bet you could pick up the tenor sax without too much hassle if you wanted to play some more jazz. The fingerings for both registers on the sax are the same as for the upper register on clarinet, so it doesn't get confusing. With both instruments being Bb instruments you can use the same music without having to transpose as well. When I was younger I played sax in a "big band" style group for a while. We played a few free gigs in local jazz clubs and it was always a brilliant night out. Do some playing and have some beers :)

Of course, if you want to take this route, you will have the problem of having to get hold of a saxophone :)

Cool, good to know. Who knows, someday when I have some more time perhaps I'll try picking one up. :)

Hi there! I'm 21 years old and alone on a Friday night, in my little somewhat messy apartment. I could have gone and seen Cloverfield with some friends, but I said no, because I think the movie will suck. I, instead, was set on doing the massive amount of studying I need to do to catch up (see my thread complaining about a silly mock grant proposal), but then I procrastinated instead, and now I am biding my time, promising myself that I will wake up early tomorrow so that I can study enough to hang out with friends Saturday night.

Hay, guess what.

GOOD CHOICE.

My friend wanted to go see that, and I was like, meh, sure, so me, him, and his girlfriend/my best friend all went and saw it. He seemed to like it, but me and her were texting each other back and forth going this movies f***ing retarded.
