Home screen image resolution

Hello

Just received the new iPad.

So, the screen resolution is 2048x1536 so for my background / home screen / desktop I made an image with those exact proportions. Only problem is, it blows up the picture so I only see part of it.

What is the correct resolution for a home screen image if I want to see the whole picture?

You want to do 2048 x 2048 but it may always get cutoff.
