Was wondering if i could get a bit of advise on what would be the best method to play music/vid throughout a flat.
In the living room, I currently have a new mac mini, running with a 1gb external HD. It's connected up to the TV through an AV receiver and speakers etc. This set up is great.
What I want to do is have all the of the media on the external HD available on my Macbook in my bedroom which is linked up to a TV. The music is fine, Itunes takes care of that by home sharing. However, it seems that any movies that are on my Itunes don't get recognized unless I've downloaded them from Itunes.
All the movies are legal (before apple jumps on me :/ ) but they're essentially rips of my hard copies. then I save them as '.mov' files to put them into itunes. It doesn't seem to pick these up.
So... is there anyway to get itunes to recognise and stream them like stuff purchased through Itunes?
or is there any other way of getting the stuff streamed to my other macbook so I can simply play them in the bedroom?
