This is odd. All of my video are stored on an external and all have been converted and all are linked in iTunes. Home sharing works great EXCEPT a few movies. Some won't play, some will only play audio when I try to watch from another iTunes library. However, they all play fine when viewed from the share on the iPad mini. Any ideas?

I'm having the same exact problem. I recently used MakeMKV with an external blu-ray drive to rip some discs and then run them through Handbrake to make M4V files. Yeah, I know I could have just changed the container from MKV to M4V, but I wanted to bring the file size down. Anyhow, all of the rips I made are extremely slow to buffer. To the point where I don't even want to watch the movie anymore. If I pick a non-HD movie I'd ripped previously, it plays very quickly with minimal, if any, buffering.

One of the posts here mentioned optimizing the M4V file in Subler. I tried that and it had absolutely zero effect.

Sorry I can't help you. Just know you're not alone!
