Have a LifX lamp added to HomeKit. However in HomeKit automations all I can seem to do is turn it on, but to turn off has to be max 60mins, surely not?

I want to turn on the lamp early evening and switch off late evening, like 4 hours later. Can this be done in HomeKit?

Thanks

Is there a reason you can’t create a separate automation to turn if off?

Can't see how, doesn't seem to be that option strangely. Surely I'm missing something, they must know people keep lamps on for longer than 60mins?

Are you trying to turn it on and off at specific times? If so just create one automation that triggers at the time you want it to turn on and just leaves it on. Then another that triggers at the time you want it to turn off.

The way you want it is not possible. You'll have to make two separate automations. One to turn them on and one to turn them off.
Maybe the last automation can be merched with some other devices in the house that need to be turned off?
Like, when I say 'Goodnight' all the lights turn off. Or when I leave…

Thanks I've now added one to turn on, one to turn off as you've said. To me seems a little daft, I use SmartThings as well and automations are, what I'd call, normal.

Sorry, can't speak for SmartThings. Never used it…

But maybe you should check the 'Eve' app. Gives you a lot more options within automations.
Or even better, Home 3, but that one isn't free.

Those 60 minutes you speak of, are used for, for example, motion sensors.

I got one in the living room that triggers a light to turn on for 10 minutes. Really handy when you wake up at night and get up for a glass of water. (open kitchen/living space)
