HomeKit Homekit automation turn off not working

all my automation work fine except

I had set Return home automation to turn on walkway lamp-working fine
N within this automation to turn off after 5 minutes- the lamp keep turning on forever even when i set it to turn off after 5 mins

I have try other duration. Like turn off after 4 mins or 10 mins but it just wont turn off.
I can turn off manually thru home app though

I try restarting my apple tv 4k(homehub), ipad pro(standby hub)

Anyone know how to solve this issue.

Generally the light is tied to another automation or more likely a scene that is keeping it on. For example if you have an "arrive home" scene that turns the walkway light on but not back off it will keep your light on.

You'll also want to verify that none of the associated apps are overriding HomeKit ex. Hue app is telling that light to come on with arrive home but its not telling it to turn off.

Use "test this automation" to check it. If in doubt turn off all your other automations.

Thanks for the help. However all automation are not duplicate or cross duplicate over various app.

I have finally managed to find the root of the problem. The reason is i create a scene “walkway lamp” with various brightness n various color. After creating, i press the scene. It immediately on the scene correctly.

However after 30-60 sec. without doing anything, the scene button will auto trigger off but the light is still on physically n at the individual said walkway lamp. Nothing changes,the color n brightness is the same. Just the scene got toggle off automatically on the home app. I believe this is the bug.

Hence when i create the automation with this scene. It will not auto off after 5 mins. Since the “walkway lamp” scene had already auto toggle off for unknown reason. While physically it still on.

To work ard this bug, i need to set the light adjust it with the desired brightness n color first, on it. Thereafter create the scene and save it without adjusting anything. Instead of creating the scene n adjusting the brightness etc at the creating scene option.
