I bought an Ecobee Smartcam which supports HomeKit. I set it up to record when I’m away, but it doesn’t record or give me motion notifications when I’m not home. It only works when I’m home.
I have 2 HomePod minis and an Apple TV 4K as my hubs. I read that HomeKit video doesn’t work with HomePods so I forced my Apple TV to be the home hub, but it’s still not working when I’m away from home.
That it works when I am home though is strange since I think that also uses the Home hub.
Any ideas?
Edit: I just got an “animal” notification while away so I guess it works, but not reliably as I had it set to all motion earlier and got nothing.
Edit 2: no recordings at all today. Apple TV is still the hub.
