Looking to get out of this stupid Nest thermostat, not due to lack of HomeKit support but because it’s terrible at cooling and heating, and a bunch of other issues.

So with that said, what HomeKit thermostat are you using? I’m sure a majority are using Ecobee (I’m looking at the newest gen), but anything else work well?

I have 6 Ecobees in total. Three newest gen Smart Thermostats covering three cooling/heating zones and three Ecobee 3 Lites covering three heating only zones. Had some issues getting them into HomeKit initially (Think it had to do with my HomeKit enabled eero routers) but once in, they’ve been rock solid.

I orignally had NEST but changed over to Ecobee because I frankly dispise google.

The homekit integration with Ecobee works great overall.
I only use it for heating but it seems to have all the features I need it.
I also like the sensors you can place with each room.

That said, I think the turn knob of the nest is a bit more intuitive as-is the software for setting temputre by day/time.

I've had nothing but trouble out of the lyric and eco bee thermostats for what it's worth. Constantly dropping off the networks etc

I've sort of given up on a good HomeKit thermostat...

I had one of these for a while until it completely stopped playing with HomeKit. No matter what I did it would not register with HomeKit and just showed as unavailable in the Home app. I gave up with it in the end.

We have dual A/C units on our home, so we have two of the Honeywell Lyric thermostats... they've been installed for almost 3 years now and they work perfectly with HomeKit. We had an issue with both connecting properly shortly after they were installed, but I deleted the thermostats from HomeKit, set them up again, and it's been pretty much flawless ever since. Obviously, YMMV.
