I'm currently testing two stereopaired HomePods 2 and....nah, this might not be for me.

I've done some changes to surfaces, placing and stuff and there is a clear difference - the nailpiercing hyped mids got a bit better, but still - gah, prolonged listening is out of the question, it's too tiresome for the ears.

I mainly listen to various "urban" music styles, techno, instrumental hiphop, alt. rock, ambient and some classical and jazz. Vocals in music takes over totally with these hyped mids. Guitars in rockmusic becomes o n l y guitars.

As speakers to my Apple tv they work perfect, sounds good enough for spoken stuff.

*sigh* But I guess it's back to my normal Bowers & Wilkins stereo set up and 20 meters of cabling across the livingroom.

Apple, a friggin EQ would have done a huge difference!

(weirdly enough, even though Airplay 2 doesn't support EQ-ing - when I play tracks through the app "Decoupled" - which doesn't use my Apple Music library - the Decoupled EQ works just fine and can be used with Airplay and the HomePods. Music sounds a lot better with some user-applied EQ on it, but that's only available in this special app.)
