I love my HomePods. I'm sure I've said it several times in these types of articles. Really too bad that it was discontinued.

Like many, I have a pair of them connected to an Apple TV in a room where nothing was pre-wired and they fill the room so nicely.

I also have a pair of them in a 1200 sq ft garage and they work awesome in that environment too.

The HomePod is a terrific little speaker. I have two in my office, along either side of my iMac, and two more in other rooms.

I'm not interested in selling my own HomePods but I hope this gives Apple some reassurance that a new HomePod with similar audio capabilities would find many interested customers.
They discontinued because of lack of interest and sales, used ones selling high is not going to make Apple come out with a new one, at least not because of that. It is a crowded market and Apple has great sound quality, that is pretty much it when it comes to the Homepods. Alexa is basically a living human with a soul in comparison to Siri and comes at a much cheaper price point for devices that still sound great. I have echo devices throughout my house, one in every room, I control lights, thermostat, bulbs, etc through Alexa as well as music. I have a pair in stereo with a sub and sounds amazing as well, again all for much much cheaper then what Apple was selling as basically only a music hub.

Love my HomePods. I have bought a few used ones from eBay and paid more than I did on a few of the new ones I bought before they disappeared out of the shops.

Wish another was launched at a more reasonable price point. I think $179 to $199 rather than $349 would have been them flying off the shelves.

I never bought the larger HomePod because the price was off-putting, and instead I got three minis (two as a stereo pair with my iMac, one in the bathroom). For my small space they do the job; my bigger concern is the limited functionality of the devices if you don't subscribe to Apple Music. Wish it were possible to command Siri to play music from my local library instead...

In my case, being an old Apple customer, I absolutely refuse to buy the childish looking HomePod mini. The original HomePod instead had a design that could appeal a broader age range of customers. I went to SONOS instead.

So disappointed they discontinued the OG HomePod - I use my 2 near daily for music, so I will be very sad when either eventually gives up its soul.

I wish Apple would still invest in niche markets since the OG HomePod shines in that light. Unfortunately, though a success with its high satisfaction and hardware implementation, it failed as far as how Apple’s strategy plays mass adoption to get more bucks out of their existing customer base... partly because Siri was too weak and terribly ecosystem-unaware at launch, and also because smart-speaker focused competitors are much cheaper and more dynamic in function.

Apple should've made them a bit more repairable and externally updatable, which would have reduced so much customer frustration.

HomePod was possibly a failure in marketing/message. It was compared to google home and Alexa which were voice assistants with speakers. HomePod was a speaker system with Siri.

Coffee with sugar, sugar with coffee.

I own 5 OG's I got at two-hunge each. They are my one true love.

I have three original HomePods, use them every day. Great speakers, so sad when they were discontinued. Have 4 Mini’s as well now, they are ok in small rooms but not a patch on two stereo linked HomePods.

Hmm.. Alexa, sounds sweet, living human with a soul, designed to deceive you from the fact that Amazon is a data harvester vs Siri, which doesn't sound as good, but I think I'll take better privacy.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the HomePod comes back at some point. If the mini keeps selling well, they might try again and (maybe) with a better balance on the pricing.

HomePod Studio ? or, preferably, 'HomePod Mini Pro Max XDR Studio +'.

The former actually sounds great - I'll gladly let them take that in exchange for a free unit!

The core problem with the HomePod, not the price. Suspect more of a profit manufacturing issue for Apple. Apple definitely needs more speakers than the mini.

I love the OG HomePod. Have 2 of them paired in my living room. Every time I listen to them - which is on a daily basis - I’m in awe! The sound quality is superb. I don’t believe Apple ditched the high-end tech of the OG HomePod and hopefully - fingers crossed 🤞🏽 - we’ll see a new and evolved HomePod in the future.
