Hi,
I set my HomePod as default speaker for Apple TV 4k. It works but now I cannot control HomePod. I.e. if I tell Siri to play something in Apple Music it does not work. If I remove HomePod from Apple TV default speaker it works again.

I see similar issue in support forum:

Is there solution to this problem?

Best Regards,
Daniel

You may need to remove your HomePod from your home and reset it up as new. I had issues with the 14.2 update. Once I reset as new everything worked for me. I ask Siri to play music all the time now and it works. Keep in mind though it will play throw the music app on the tv. But it will still play with the TV off for me.

I’m having a similar problem, but it’s just music that’s not working. And even that is spotty. HomePod will play radio stations and it will play music that I purchased long ago. But it will not play other music if I try to select a particular song, album, etc. I’ve even tried picking a song on my phone, getting it to play through my phone speakers, then air playing the sound to HomePod. It all works until that last step. When I switch the audio to HomePod, the song literally stops on my phone and will not start again—as in the time on the song stops.
