I recently sold my two Apple TV’s because I bought TCL Roku TV’s for my living room and bedroom, so now I’m using my HomePod as my home hub. It works great when I’m home, but when I’m away from home everything is unavailable. How can I fix this?

Have you tried rebooting your router also?
sometimes the HomePod gets weird with wifi, rebooting the router can help.

if you go into the home app (iPhone, iPad or Mac) and click the home icon at the top, select home settings, and look for home hubs.

You should see a list of the devices, and if they're connected, standby, or disconnected. If you have more than one hub, only 1 will show connected, everything else should be standby. Disconnected is shown if you've disabled in the settings menu on that devices (I don't think you can disable a HomePod, just aTV)

that should give you an ideal of what the home app thinks is going on.

This happened to me too. Lasted a couple days then all of a sudden worked again. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
