I’m trying to get the audio to synch on my HomePod when using Apple TV to watch as film or TV program.

i have used the synch audio option on the Apple TV using my iPhone, the audio is still slightly out of synch, it’s ok when I just use my TV speakers.

can anyone suggest another setting I’m missing to get the audio in synch??

which appleTV do you have?

It's been a while since I've used one, but I think the 3 would let you airplay. It does use "airplay 1" which doesn't work as well when synced to video. So if you have a 3, that's the best you're going to get.

if it is a 4, try rebooting your router and all network gear
try hardwiring the aTV if possible, or moving the router closer to the devices.

sadly with airplay, you're probably always going to run into issues,

It’s the Apple TV 4K that’s the issue, I have tried the same film on my iPhone XS and the audio when airplay’d to my HomePod is in synch with the film.

i used hard wired and wireless on the Apple TV same issue....

I’ll go to Apple and ask their advice, May just be what it is, but worth asking I guess!!

Are you using a receiver of any type?

Calibration of the TV and/or audio equipment need to be good first and once that is done then you need to calibrate the wireless sync (reset the calibration prior to adjusting the TV).

When I set my Samsung TV audio delay to 0 and wireless sync it its very difficult to tell the TV is playing in combination with the HomePod because they are perfectly in sync. The AV receiver connected to my AirPort express needed adjustment as well but I was never able to get it precisely right, its about 1 behind.
