So I bought the HomePod when it first came out and while it's dumb, I was amazed at how sensitive it is to voice command. It could be playing music and I could just say "Hey Siri" in a normal setting and it could pick it up and follow my command.

Fast forward a couple of recent weeks, I've noticed that the HomePod doesn't pick up my command at all while it's playing music, even at lower volume. I could be screaming on the top of my lung and it couldn't hear me at all. It's getting so frustrated.

Does anyone have the same problem and/or know how to fix it? I've tried to reset it and re-pair with my iPhone but it didn't help.

Thanks in advance for all your help!

Crazy but I have had this happening alot lately and have had better luck by lowering my voice and not speaking as loudly. I'm also having more trouble with other devices answering instead of the HomePod. Early on other devices seemed to respect dominance of the HomePod Siri to respond so I think something has changed with regards to "listening".

I was having the same issue and the only thing that seemed to help was unplugging and replugging it in. Since the update a couple of weeks ago I havent noticed it being an issue. Is the HomePod up to date?

My problem is fixed. Homepod is listening again after I reset it.
Tip for those with problems, just get into the habit of unplugging your iPhone for 20 seconds every few days.
