Hi Everyone,

Got my first HomePod today because of Black Friday.

When I plugged it in for the first time there was a spark and now part of the prong is blackened. Is it still safe to use?

Thank you.

If it works, you're good. The spark was probably from the initial current draw from the capacitors. I think mine sparks a bit when I plug it in also.

It's certainly safe to use. Anything you plug into the wall could make the same spark. It's not common, but it's not a concern.
