Guys,

My first major issue with HomePod. I ask:

"Hey Siri, play ... album"

And I'm met with

"I'm on it"
"One more moment"
"Stand by please"
"I'm having trouble connecting to the internet. For more info check the Home App associated with this HomePod"

Well, I've checked the HomeApp and there's no indication that the HomePod is not connected to the internet. Moreover, it was able to turn my heating down which is via the internet so cannot be that.

Any ideas?

Mine is acting the exact same way right now. I asked Siri to play classic rock and she couldn't find any.

Just created another thread about Apple Radio not working and there seems to be an outage. I wonder if this is also affecting HomePod.

Mine is doing the same thing. Apple Music simply isn’t working. However I didn’t get an internet not connected message, it just takes 10 minutes to tell me the artist can’t be found

I'm still having the radio issue so it cannot have been resolved.

I'm still having radio issues.

"Hey Siri, play some music" will normally play the personalised radio station.

Instead it's been:

"One moment... One moment... Okay, playing your music, shuffled."

Which is not what I want.

So it's still down for me.

I'm a little confused on the difference between Apple Music and Apple Radio. If you say "Hey Siri play [Artist]" is that Radio or Music? For me, asking for a specific artist isn't working anymore.

Also, is Apple Music down for you in addition to Radio?

Apple Music is still working for me.

These days most radio features are only available to Apple Music subscribers. If you say "Hey Siri play [artist]" then a radio station will start playing songs by that artist. This is part of Apple Music.

Beats 1 and other public radio stations are available without an Apple Music subscription.

So play [artist] would be Apple RADIO and play [song by this artist] would be Apple MUSIC?

Okay to get Radio working I had to reset my network settings. That has resolved the issue. As for the HomePod I turned it off and on again after resetting network settings (Apple told me to do it in this order, no idea why) and that has fixed HomePod. I can now "Hey Siri" for music on HomePod and play Apple Radio on my phone.

Yes, but like I said, both are now Apple Music features.

In other words:

If Apple says that “Radio” is down, it means that the mechanism for selecting which songs to play is down.

If Apple says that “Apple Music” is down, you wouldn’t be able to stream anything.

But the actual audio in both cases is coming from the Apple Music catalogue.

I had a few minutes this weekend where I asked the Homepod to play something and she said "Ok" or "Sure thing" and nothing played. Kept trying and eventually it resolved itself but was odd.

Last night my HomePod suddenly burst out with about 1 second of loud techno music and stopped on its own. No idea but it startled the hell out of me. Anyone see this behavior?

Mine seems to be back to normal now. I can ask it to play individual songs or "classic rock" radio.

Jigzaw, I have not had that happen to me yet.

Back to normal for me too.

As for weird behaviour - one of my HomePods seems to go quiet briefly every now and then as if it's heard a "Hey, Siri".
