HomePod HomePod Mini and Apple TV HD setup

Sorry if this is a dumb question but what is the proper way to connect a HomePod Mini to an Apple TV HD (not 4K)? The only way I could figure out was to press and hold the TV button on the remote till I got an Airplay option, then I was able to select the Mini. Is that the correct/only way to do this?

Well that's the correct way with the larger homepod, I have two in stereo works great on my ATV HD

yes, that's the only way to do it with the minis

on the full-size you can no go into the audio/video settings in the main settings app and select HomePod as the default output, but that apparently doesn't exist for the minis, not sure if it's an oversight, or a choice on Apple's part. s

I've seen a couple threads where setting the HomePod as default kills the wifi speeds, but setting a HomePod as output using the "old way" doesn't

if you want it on the HomePod mini's ....
