I have the same thought.

And actually I should correct my earlier statement - as can be seen from the excerpt I pulled from Apple's press release on the mini, they didn't say it would be available ON the 16th, they said 'beginning the week of the 16th'.

What we are all fussing about is simply confirming that they are doing what they said they would do, a full month ago (the press release announcing the mini is dated Oct 13th, in fact).

I suspect that part of people‘s concern was that if their order, placed within minutes of preorders going live, had not yet gone to “Preparing to Ship” that they might not arrive within the window specified, especially if the orders were coming from China with all the attendant customs-clearance issues on top of transit time. My suspicion is that shipment of early orders will be coming from US stock—at least for US orders. We’ll see if I’m right once I get my tracking info.

I keep thinking back to 2015 and my original Apple Watch that I preordered day one and said it would arrive in June and then it arrived on launch day in April.

I assume that our HomePod mini orders are being shipped through 'Next-Day delivery' from one of the local warehouses in the United States, as that was the case with the HomePod biggie.

Mine moved to Preparing to Ship a couple of hours ago.

I was charged for my HPM on Wednesday and its still Order in Progress. My order confirmation timestamp is :01:48am and i still got "17-19". For those in "Preparing to Shipping" have you tried tracking by reference on UPS or has it shown up in your mychoice?

I hope they leave china tomorrow and get to us on Monday, at least for those of us who ordered in the first 5 minutes

Mate, I believe that our orders will be shipped from local warehouses in the United States (if you are from the US), as that was the case with the OG HomePods.

I'm the same, paid for express delivery, it now says 18th. I'm wondering if the App is just going worst case scenario and we might get them Monday or Tuesday......

Can hope that they ship tomorrow for Monday delivery but resolutely still showing 18th and the customer service person seemed convinced. Possibly some small delay that they were aware of on launch and chose to hide with a date range!

It could be that they're in a depot in the UK, and we will see movement tomorrow night, like what happens with iPhones, but not 100% convinced, as it's a Sunday, which isn't usual.

This is my first HomePod too. I have Sonos in every room but I prefer Siri to Alexa, so I’m getting this HomePod to have in my Office and depending on how it is, I’ll consider getting one for my bedroom.

I’m also interested in the reviews for Dolby Atmos on the regular HomePod. We’ve got the Sonos bar and two speakers, but they’re the older ones. It’s a shame that HomePod can only do it with Apple TV and I can’t access all my streaming services on it (Sky). If that doesn’t get added I’ll consider getting the newer Sonos bar.

We have 6 big ones. I wanted the baby one for the bathroom. (And I stole the big one hubby had in his workshop to make a stereo pair in the office... so I ordered him a small one to replace it.)

This is like my second HomePod I have a big one that broke back during the one software update and its just stuck in a boot loop, and I have not be able to get to a apple store for them either to replace or repair it.

This will be my 3rd one. It will be replacing a Sonos One in my bathroom. It has some pretty big shoes to fill, as I love the sound on the Sonos I just want Siri in the bathroom so this is my only option. I sure hope the sound is decent. I think the Sonos sounds better than the HomePod or at least a tie. I have noticed my HomePods sounds better with 14.2 so we shall see.

I was wondering if thats why they are "taking so long" to ship because they would rather ship these from local warehouses. It makes sense they had them ship with the iphones and now they are stocking them to ship out this weekend.
