hi, i know this may be wishful thinking but is it possible to play 2 homepod minis in stereo without a wifi connection (via airplay/bluetooth)? one speaker works great that way but when i attempt two, terrible things happen :). thanks.

You cannot. I've tried it with regular HomePods as well. You can AirPlay directly to a single HomePod (ad-hoc WiFi) but this doesn't work for a stereo pair.

What are these terrible things that happen haha? For me I tried it by unplugging my wifi router, and then only the single HomePods in the house appeared in my AirPlay list with the stereo pairs disappearing from the list.

thank you!! i kept thinking maybe if i have things set up in e-xact-ly the right way…. the terrible things: honestly i was trying so many configurations that i’m not sure what was the cause of what, but it seemed like one would play, then the other, then neither—then the app wouldn’t be able to find them, then one would play—erratic, poltergeisty stuff like that.

How did you managed to get it work?
I was able to set it up to play music (allow access to everyone), but cannot use any of the media control (skip, change volume, browsing etc). Let me know. Thanks
