HomePod homepod mini to control ipad/macbook siri?

I'm having trouble thinking of how to phrase what I need to google to find the answer for this... Is the homepod mini able to control a specific apple tablet or computer? For example, siri put ipad air/macbook pro to sleep, pause on ipad etc.? I would like to use siri more as due to disability getting up to change something is not the easiest. But if I say pause trying to get the right device siri to respond is a crapshoot. Would homepod help with this or does it only work for lights and such? Thanks
