I find myself frustrated at times when I ask my watch to open the garage door or send a message to someone, but instead of the watch processing the command, the HomePod across the room does and fails due to the device being secure or the HomePod not being set up to be a personal device.
I assume this is still a growing pain with the HomePod and Apple needs to better tune "Hey Siri", but just wanted to ensure there wasn't a setting or something I was missing that could help with these situations. I'm glad HomePod can hear me far away, but if I raise my wrist to activate my watch, it should take priority with the Siri commands.
Perhaps that's why with the new WatchOS, "Hey Siri" isn't needed for the watch - just lift to wake and speak.
