Since a couple of days my HomePods are not behaving as they should and it’s driving me insane, here’s the story:

- I have two OG HomePods that are connected as a stereo pair.
- Both are on iOS 15.2
- playing music on request is not working anymore, i.e.: I ask Siri to “play another one bites the dust by queen”. Siri responds that she’s playing Another one bites the dust by queen but then plays a random song that I don’t know.
- This is the case with ANY song I request

I have restarted both of them, set them up as new but nothing happened…

Seeing the numerous complaints here on the forum I guess there are some serious issues with the latest software update…does anyone have the same experience?

I just tried it and no problem. Maybe it's misunderstanding you? Does it happen with that one song or others?
No, it happens with all songs unfortunately. I don’t think that it’s misunderstanding me, either. I never had a problem until now and my voice hasn’t changed :)

lol, reread the first post where u stated ANY song and then I ask about one or others, geeze
lol.
When the HomePods get fishy on me, I turn off the modem and router, restart and the pods will be okay for a bit. I never had your problem except when I say play library and Siri plays all songs shuffled, lol.

Sorry to revive this thread from the dead, but is there any explanation to this?

I find that happens to my HomePod OG if I have it set as the audio output for my Apple TV 4K (even when the Apple TV is asleep).

Changing that output back to the TV speakers clears the issue and the HomePod will then play the correct song using "Hey Siri" to request.

sorry for the revive, but this is exactly what I've been experiencing since a few months.

Running os 17.5, using songs from my iTunes library (no Apple music subscription)...
Did you find any way to get it working again?
