So twice now I've had to unplug my HomePod to basically restart. I don't have Apple Music but have an extensive collection of music and use iTunes Match.

I'm finding that after a week or so Siri no longer plays my songs or playlist even though she acknowledges that she is. I've also had playlist cut short and if asked to continue Siri simply starts playing from the beginning.

Now Siri isn't in a brain state and will continue to provide information when asked (weather, time, reminders) and will still control my homekit devices, she just stops doing music.

Has anyone else run into this and has anyone found an easier way to restart without unplugging.

Glad you posted this, because I spent an hour tonight trying to figure out how I broke the **** outta my new HomePod. It suddenly became absolutely useless as a music player, which pretty much obviates the whole point of the device.

Early adopters must expect some glitches. Apple will be updating soon.
I get and expect that, just wanted to see if it was just me or if others were seeing this as well. The other hope I had was that someone had found a way to do a restart without unplugging. My HomePod is connected into my TV stand and getting to the plug for it is a bit challenging.

I know what you mean about hard to reach cords in the AV area. I keep saying I will get back there one day and clean it out. Yep, I had read early on that some of the users were having to unplug to get things going again.

I bet Apple will be doing its updates on a regular basis for a while.

I have this issue too. Have to unplug/plug in again every 3 or 4 days. iTunes Match user, not Apple Music, with a hard to reach plug as well. Would be nice if you could just ask Siri to reboot the home pod!

Lots of people talking about this at Apple Support Communities and there have been other similar threads here too. i've had this issue and reported it to Apple.

That’s why I’ve started kitting out my gear with smart plugs. Sure it doesn’t help if you need to move things, but for switching on and off it sure beats trying to reach individual plugs.

Anyway, OT, I’ve not experienced this yet. I wonder if I will eventually, or if there’s a certain set of circumstances causing it.

Either way, it shouldn’t be happening. I’m shocked, it’s not like Apple to release a product with bugs
