HomePod HomePod uses BT or WiFi?

We know it has the W1 chip, but that is only to assist pairing right? So what does Apple use for the wireless audio streaming? The HomePod is not compatible with non Apple devices, so probably not Bluetooth. Wondering if any reviewers have discussed this. (None that I’ve read so far)

Wifi. It doesn't use bluetooth for audio and can't be used as a bluetooth speaker.

Airplay over WiFi. It doesn't use Bluetooth for streaming - only for initial setup

Bluetooth can also be used for HomeKit device that use it.
