Trying to install 16.0 on three of my OG HomePods and it fails saying I need to update my AppleID password. I enter the password and it’s saying it’s incorrect. Now I’m stuck because it looks like it’s in the middle of installing and I’m afraid to reboot it.

Anyone else run into this?

Apple software strikes again!

That happened to me on two of four HomePods. I just kept trying and eventually it worked. I remember a field that said "password required" or "enter password" and nothing would happen if I touched it. But then I must have touched somewhere nearby but not exactly on the text and it opened a password prompt, which worked. I suspect the touch target on that screen is not aligned with the text. Try touching places around and nearby the prompt. Eventually you will find it.

I’m getting the field to enter my password but it keeps saying my password is incorrect. Extremely frustrating.

I only get asked for the password AFTER the update has completed….and also got the same issue where you tap the box to enter the password but the keyboard would NOT pop up to start typing….only re-starting my phone fixed this…happened on 2 out my 4 HomePods.

My next step was to reboot my phone but the updates finally took.

This was probably the most frustrating update yet.
