HomePod HomePods as tv speakers

So I had no trouble connecting my new HomePods 2gen to my tv for stereo output . Is there a way to easily switch from using HomePods and wanting to go back to TV speakers ? Seems like I’m going to many steps , there has to be an easier way ?

Too many steps to switch back and forth?

Its only a couple of levels down the settings menu.
Short of telepathically knowing when you want to switch audio it doesnt seem too onerous.

If your watching a show and want to switch ,you have to leave the show ,go to the homescreen then go to settings then video /audio..it should be easier

I agree, you should be able to hold down the home button, go to the audio settings and switch back and forth between tv speakers and HomePods. Maybe a future update will enable this.

I dont disagree in that it makes sense for such a function to be accessible from the long press of the TV button in that pop up menu.

However I would imagine that not many people would want to change audio output sources often... and certainly not midway through watching a tv show or movie.
This is probably why its 4 clicks away instead of 2.

I do this with Apple TV 4k and AirPods max and tv speakers all the time; why not with HomePods.

It would be nice for the ATV to have widgets for things like this. Or, like, a menu button.
