How do I view all the videos I have shot on my iPhone(stored in the Videos folder of the photos app on my iMac) on the atv?

I have home sharing turned on and see photos in the computers app but it is missing the Video folder.
I do not use the cloud and everything in sync'd locally.

I can see here https://support.apple.com/guide/tvapp-mac/manage-your-library-atvbe9ddc3f/mac

Import home videos to your library

You can import video files so that you can watch them in the Apple TV app.
  1. In the Apple TV app

on your Mac, choose File > Import.
  2. Locate a video file on your Mac, then click Open.
Imported videos appear in the Home Videos category in the sidebar of your library.

However I cannot open enclosing folder in photos app/Videos to figure out how to get video imported.

I also found https://discussions.apple.com/thread/251683571

Home Sharing files will not show in the TV app on the Apple TV box. As mentioned earlier, use the Computers app instead.

Add your files to the library using iTunes or using the TV app on your Mac. By default, the shared files may be moved or copied to a standard folder, but you can override that and use the files just where they are. In both cases, it only matters that the shared files are added the the library database. There is no sharing folder as such.

How do I get my home videos to be viewable on my atv4K, I am on Catalina 10.15.7

Mine get automatically uploaded to iCloud which I’m also logged into via the ATV and all my videos are then watchable via the Photos app.

You can't view your Photos videos directly using Home Sharing, but you can view your Photos videos using the Photos app on your Apple TV by turning on iCloud Photos on your Mac and ATV.

You can also export videos from the Photos app, and those will be available to import into the ATV app on your Mac, and then be available via Home Sharing, but that's the long way around. It's a good alternative if you don't want to use iCloud Photos though.

I just realized you can view the Photos videos on the ATV if you have the right options selected. I wasn't set up to do it that way but just tried it. Here's the steps I used:

1. Mac Preferences > Sharing > Media Sharing. Home Sharing and Share photos with Apple TV are checked.
2. To the right of Share photos with Apple TV, tap the Choose button.
3. On the option screen, select Options: Include videos.

It took a couple of minutes, but I was able to view videos from my Mac on my ATV. I had a couple in my Favorites, so it appears the videos need to be in another album to be available because for some reason Media Types > Videos isn't available.

Update: In Mac Photos, I created an album named Videos-Home Sharing, dragged all my videos into it, and after a few minutes, it was available on my Apple TV under Photos > Albums.

Hope this helps!

I can't see the videos folder, so I'm glad it's working for you. I was only experimenting to help but for some reason it doesn't show on mine unless I create a videos album.

You can also selectively drag your home videos to the TV app on your Mac. The first time you do, it will add a "Home Videos" item under "Library" and any future videos will go there. You can do the same thing to add any kind of video, they will go in the Home Video category by default but if you choose Get Info > Options, you can change the "media kind" dropdown to Movie or TV Show if desired. This is all the same as iTunes on older versions of MacOS.

If Media Sharing is enabled in System Preferences, then all of these will be available from the Computers app on your Apple TV.

Could I technically upload "home videos" (videos from VHS) and DVD/Blu-Ray files to iCloud and use across all devices? (without being on the same network)?
