Heh, exactly the same for me. I love all their predecessors. Halo 1 was the best console FPS I played since Goldeneye, Vice City and San Andreas were just too fun and MGS1 really inspired me but their sequels just don't hit that same spot. They've all gone much too realistic, it's as if they've just replaced fun with physics and realism.

Couldn't agree more. MGS1 is still my favorite of the series, as is GTA3 and Vice City. I'd still rank Goldeneye as the best FPS I've ever played - there's just something about that one. ;) :cool:

What I like about games is the escapism. In all the games I work on I try to make them surreal and play a little differently to other games in the genre because I don't feel enough games these days are doing this.

Agree again - a lot of games these days seem to be missing a soul. They don't make' em like they used to I guess! ;)

And I'm not saying that all current games are crap - there are many great ones out there, but as you say, there's something to be said for the truly innovative, creative games of past years, especially when comapring them to their successors, sequels, etc. - many times the difference is obvious. :cool:
