I am connected with Telstra, I have a speedstream 4200 modem, no router, with an ethernet connection.

I am getting fast surfing and web pages load quickly but download speeds are horrible (or not as fast as they use to be). Called Telstra, they said to download a file off of their site and it should be more than 100KB and it wasn't even close, possibly 30-50KB tops. It might be firmware but I can't update it because I have a Mac.

Can I go about configuring it differently or changing specifications or should I get a different modem. Not too sure what to do...

Suggestions would be helpful
