It talks about combining MobileMe Data to a primary Apple ID account used to make purchases.

Apparently this works for all data except Mail. I am about to try this process. I don't care about MobileMe mail, so that's good for me.

Hopefully it helps some on here... of course, though, YMMV.

This process seemed to work...

Just to let you know that I followed the process in the aforementioned link and it seemed to work fine for me. At this point I am basically untethered from MobileMe; that is to say I am using my @gmail account as both my iCloud id and my iTunes purchase id.

So the only thing I am waiting for is the ability to use my MobileMe @me address for my iCloud Mail and Notes, if I want it.

For me, the ability to have one account for everything outweighs having to deal with two separate accounts for iCloud and iTunes.
