I thought I would post that here because I just don't understand how that comment could be deleted as being too political. I think that the moderators here have too much power and need to be checked. If a statement like that is too political, then all posts might need to be deleted unless they are posted in the politics forum.

Hopefully there will be a big changes to apple silicon and to how moderators abuse their power in these forums

There’s a reason why the political forum section exists though. And there’s a reason you need a certain number of posts to post in there. It’s not about being political; Being political on MacRumors is allowed. It’s about not winding up with every single thread on all the forum sections being spammed by people who joined 2 minutes ago to spread a copy-paste political advert. It’s not an abuse of power; It’s house rules - You’re in their house you follow their rules. And frankly the rules are sensible and relaxed I’d say

Was the comment outside of a PRSI thread?

I personally thing the Mods do an excellent job in keeping order on the forum.

I am sure the MR Mods have a difficult job reviewing the posts, and taking action when needed, and in my experience, they try to keep things neutral on the non-PRSI threads.

At least MR allow political posts, you just have to make sure you are in the correct forums. Many other tech sites have either two ends of moderation, anything goes or not allowed to post anything. (Some Apple-centric tech sites remove negative posts about Apple)

There have been a few of my posts removed due to the breaking one of the MR forum rules. In retrospect, I was in the wrong with those post, and I cannot remember any particular time that I felt like the MR mods made a mistake when removing mine.

If you see something that political in non-PRSI thread, you could report it.

Being truly center of the political spectrum, I really do not identify with any one side, and often report any political posts I see outside of the PRSI forum, regardless of ideology.

If people want to discuss politics, go to the PRSI forum, and don't ruin every thread in every sub-forum with all the political crap.

Politics is everywhere and it is hard to avoid even when trying.
I thank the MR mods for taking action to keep the political discussion away from non-PRSI forums and allowing people the choice to engage in political discussions when they dare enter the PRSI forums.

OP you have already submitted a contact on this issue, and as per the rules, public discussion of specific moderation isn't allowed. I'll close this thread for that reason, and you'll hear from the administrators in a response to your contact message.
