Just go into an Apple Store and return the phone then take your paperwork and buy another at Sprint. They will see that you tried to make it work and restore your upgrade.

I think spending over 2 hours in the store over 2 visits, and having them attempt to activate the phone (but actual results are what matter) and getting misinformation either intentionally or whatever counts for the above

I don't believe I could be any more clear about what you need to do. I told you EXACTLY what to do and what not to do, yet you reply with this? Unbelievable.

It's perfectly clear to me you're not interested in a solution, or even have a legit issue for that matter.

this thread has to be a joke.

if you bought the phone legally at a real non-fantasy store, just take it back and while moving your arms towards the store associate with box and receipt in hand, say these words, "can I please return this?"

Next, wait about 2-3 days and your upgrade will be back. :p

I can certainly relate.

Me and my wife had Sprint for a long time. Few years back, her line became eligible for an upgrade, so we went to a Sprint store to get her a new phone. She liked phones with keyboards, so she got some Android phone. Well, the 3G would disconnect every few minutes. Replaced it once - same thing kept happening. We decided to return the phone, and to switch to Verizon. The phone was returned, old one activated, then week later we dropped Sprint and got Verizon. Well, her line was hit with a early termination fee.

It took me 2 months of repeated calls to finally get it fixed. Sprit CS was so useless it was scary. Their suggestions ranged from "Go back to the store and have them fix it" to "I don't see you returned the phone". I finally had somebody basically do a good will waiver. Needless to say, I'm never touching Sprint with a 10-foot pole.

Sprint CS sucks. All you need to do is return the phone. Then repurchase a different one.

No, return the phone and switch carriers. 20yr sprint customer here left for the iPhone 5 on Verizon and I'm so glad I did. There is a reason why you pay a little bit more for a company who keeps itself up to date with technology. YMMV obviously.
