hosting a site using Apache

I am wanting to host a website using Apache, but when I put stuff in the 'Sites' folder on the local harddrive...it just shows written HTML, & not a real site. How do I get it to show a real site instead of looking like this:

That directory is empty You need to put something in it and call it index.html (I think that's the default).

Haha, I should have said, I know it is empty, since it wasn't working I decided to take it out, when I put it in it still doesn't work. But I will put something in it right now anyway.

http://12-203-196-10.client.insightbb.com/~jaaason!/iweb/Untitled-1.html displays properly, it's not just written HTML for me.
