Hosting on home computer

Can you host a site on your computer with a real domain name (ie. one purchased from GoDaddy or other?)

I created a simple site currently being hosted on this computer but I want to get a domain for it to make it look better. Is it possible?

Yes, you just register the domain to point to your IP address.

depending on what you have, you will have to bring up apache/iis or something of that sort. You will also probably want php installed.
