For the first time using my iPad Air since I've owned it for about a year, it got really hot (bottom back of it) although I was just surfing the web.
I don't know if it has something to do the SMS relay enabled on the device now. I was getting a bunch of text messages from a group text discussion.
Not sure if anyone has had a similar experience.
