Hotmail not working in mail

After migrating to my new iMac running El Capitian my Hotmail account has stopped working i.e recieving or sending any mail,i can log on to my account via hotmail and it's working ok on my iPhone,in mail i have a lightening symbol next to hotmail,i checked my settings on the old iMac which is ok and they where the same can't work out what to do

I had same issue this morning but it was because I have two step on my account. Do you have two step? Have you already removed re-added the account?

I was thinking of doing that delete then add again did it work for you

Like I said, with mine it was just a password issue. Made new password, put it into mail preferences, problem solved. May not need to completely remove account.
