So I have a question about the hot spot with Verizon. My 6S+ is paid off and I really wanna get a 7+ but I use my jail broken 6S+ as my internet. I live out in the sticks and there aren't any high speed internet alternatives.

I know there is no JB for iOS 10, so I thought hell I'll just pay for the hot spot unlock, but I think they push you to a new data plan and I'm on a grandfathered unlimited, so I can't lose those.

Anyone have any knowledge on the subject? I can never ask anyone at Verizon for help cuz all they do is try to get me on the "new and improved" plans

I hear you, they way Verizon and AT&T keeps trying to remove people from their unlimited iphone data plans is pathetic.
But I do believe for verizon you can add tethering to your unlimited data plan for an additional monthly fee.
Maybe some others know how much and a few more details on this.

Oh wow man, that's like a car payment.
About how much data do you usually go through per month?
They charge you $90 for unlimited talk and text?

A car payment... isn't that the truth. Wife been trying hard to get me to cancel it

I try really hard to get my monies worth. Tether my IPP quite a bit and MBP a little. Usually use 50-60gb/month. This month probably only going to use 40 or so though. But when it's faster than our $50/mo DSL it's hard to not tether

I hear you.
If service is adequate in your local area you could look into t mobile.
For the same plan you could be paying less than half of that per month.

Problem is, it throttles, or CAN throttle after 22gb I think it was? That wouldn't work

True, not sure on their new tmobile one plus plan and if the tethering is unlimited and not throttled.
Maybe someone that has it knows more details.
I saw someone post they rack up 80GB's plus tethering with no slow downs the other day.

Interesting. May have to do some more homework on it

I dont have that plan so Im not positive on the one plus plan.
But I heard and saw screenshots of others that used 80-100GB's per month with no slow downs.
I believe the throttling is done on busy cell towers during peak times.

Hmm

Yeah years ago back in early smart phone days I had T-Mobile. Never had a problem with them until I moved to middle of nowhere Kansas for work I now live back in civilization where I lived when I had T-Mobile. Definitely something for me to think about. Problem is if I give up my Verizon plan there's no getting it back, ever

I hear you, its a tough choice.
Or maybe see if they have that network trial offer where you get to test out the network for a month for free and then decide.

Jail broken I'm 90-110GB per month with no throttling. I'd be screwed if it did. Im gonna call when my 7+ gets here to get the hotspot set up.

That's insane. My bill is $~140/month.

Unlimited text, unlimited data, iPhone payment and 1,000 minutes.
