I feel like you should have to enter your Mac's admin password in order to remotely wipe it to ensure that only the real you can.

Let me get this straight... A guy gets hacked and then tells the whole world exactly how he got hacked and had other people prove that the method works. So now anyone reading this article can be copycat hackers and do the same thing. Nice. Way to go. It will be fun to see how many other people have their accounts hacked because of this one guy. :eek:

No, because of Apple's security failures....
 
This happens with a ton of Xbox Live accounts too. Microsoft doesn't seem to care. Also, since it's Microsoft and not Apple, the media doesn't care either.

Actually 90% of those people get tricked into giving there email and password trying to get free MS points and running shady apps.

Totally!! It doesn't make sense that you can wipe files owned by the admin without the admin password.

I'm sure that's the case with some. There were forums with many people comparing notes when mine was hacked. I know that I took every precaution but it didn't matter. There's lots of social engineering going on.

The boom began when EA decided that they'd allow people to buy DLC that they could trade to their "friends". That's when it became profitable to hack and sell.
