Anyone takers on this idea? I think Apple may head this direction. It's kind of hard to tell since they no longer make the black MacBook, but they have seemingly taken their design direction from the iPhone...and that's progressively getting more and more black. An entirely black unibody, with the black keys, etc. might be interesting.

I think that'd be pretty. I don't know how well it would match the plastic black keys or the black bezel though, but if it looked good I'd buy one when I go to school next year.

-1 ^^^ I doubt it, only b/c the BlackBook has been removed from the MacBook line since last year. I saw a BlackBook 2.4 Penryn yesterday and that had to be the nastiest lookin' BlackBook I've ever seen. The screen was covered with fingerprint smudges, the keyboard & trackpad were inundated with shiny and greasy smudges. Clearly, this BlackBook owner has never seen or owned a bottle of iKlear. Definitely the winner of the ugliest and nastiest BlackBook in existence. I would say NO to a black MBP...

The MBP with the aluminum unibody, but black like the new iPod Nano. I was unsure I'd like it at first, but I love it now. It would look ill, but they'd need to get the color of the plastic just right, because it's a weird contrast on my Nano. Or white keys. Or aluminum or something.

IMO, the entire Apple line could do with a wee bit more color.

You do realize that then it would cost 200$ more than the model below it, with probably a 50GB bigger HDD? :p

there was a reason it costed more than the other models of its class.. its because it was popular. i wouldnt be surprised if they are experimenting out and seeing how a macbook pro would look in that color. maybe invert the keyboard key colors with the current version and opt it as a second 17" choice in glossy. im not saying it will happen, but i cant see them not tampering with the idea given the blackbook's popularity in the past.

Colors

I think that they should make an option so that you can choose whether or not you want to order it in an anodized color. I mean, still have the aluminum, but also have a slight tint to it. And they would also have the option of making the trackpad and the edges of the screen as well as the keyboard a different color. If they indeed do that, I would like to buy one and sell the current MacBook Pro that I have. But, given how Apple doesn't seem to want to make a loose customization program, it is rather doubtful.

Teflon coating, like gerber knives, that b nice. Powder coat would be nice, as long as its the powdercoating thats scratch resistant, Downside being if you drop it, it chips. Anodized would b sweet though, if your not sure, look at some anodized craftsman tools, then decide if youd like the look

A 17" Blackbook Pro would make me forget all about its deficiencies and cost-to-power ratio in one fell swoop.

ok we dont see white any more not even white keyboards on macbooks why dont we just ask for acer or toshiba design too
