Gardeners are going to love this, I’m in! :) I’m talking about the final disposition of your body, do you really want to be pumped full of chemicals and locked away inside a lead lined casket to become a moldy mummy? Wouldn’t you rather return from where you came?

National Public Radio just featured an interview with the CEO of Recompose, the first mortuary in the US (Washington State) given the legal right to compost human bodies for final disposition. Flesh is converted to wholesome dirt, better than cremation, bones are completely dissolved.

Imo, this is fantastic, and the cost compared to a tradional burial is modest, less than $6K. I predict this will spread across the country, while noting, I have no clue of what the status of Natural Organic Reduction is world wide.

Is it even legal to bury remains in your flower bed in most jurisdictions?

Nah .... if they buried me under the roses , they'd probably get black spot . " Ya know , he wasn't much good when he was alive , and now look!"

It's actually free and people have been doing it since the beginning of time...

In the grand scheme of things, when your dead, you don't care what happens to your body nor the cost of it.

Just another way to get you to part with your money before you depart.

In 1963, the Catholic Church changed its policy and lifted the ban on cremating due to sanitation risks, overcrowded cemeteries, and financial reasons. Nevertheless, they were still adamant that burying the dead was preferred.

maybe the this a proper compromise

When I lived back in NY State in the Finger Lakes Region, which is a very big agricultural region, that this was an alternative way of disposing of dead cows. Let nature take its course.

There will be 8 Billion dead bodies in the next 100 to 120 years.
