You've all given me invaluable information. Thank you for that! I think that, given my situation and based of what many of you have reported, the Apple Watch might suffice, as I'm only beginning fitness again and I'm pretty much starting at zero.
I think you are making a good choice. There are some good apps too that will add some motivation as well. Step counters to heart tracking as and app to sleep trackers. Helps to monitor your progress.

Good luck!

Best wishes on a full recovery for you.

Thank you, my last scan was clear and my chemo sessions are now over.

Funny story (well not at the time): when I was in hospital over the summer I used the Xperia Z3 Compact I'd had for a year-and-a-half for music and reading ebooks. Well, it kept falling off my bed onto the hard hopital floor as the drugs made me drowsy, I'd fall asleep and not notice. The screen and back glass never shattered, but one day the screen just wouldn't come on. I figure that so many falls had done something to the ribbon connecting the display. Shame because I liked that phone.

When I got out I bought the iphone 7 then an Apple Watch 2, and I've not regretted either. The Watch is a superb piece of kit, especially for runners, swimmers and fitness fans. It's helped me greatly recently as I've been increasing my outdoor activity gradually.

WHAT??? 40 lbs (of fat) is 140,000 kcal or a negative 2600 kcal a day!

Not sure what I'm doing wrong other than working out 30 min a day doing cardio and a light regimine of body weight strength training, eating an appropriate amount of calories (from Whole Foods. No more processed food. No fast food.) my blood pressure has gone from about 160/100 to 120/80. I don't get headaches any more, I have more energy, and I'm not craving the foods that made me fat.

It seems like everyone is coming down on me for losing weight.

All I know is I feel better and the Apple Watch helped me jumpstart something that will help me get my health back on track.

It's just a pretty significant amount of weight to lose. But weight loss is always faster in the beginning. You're doing it in a healthy manner so I wouldn't worry about it. Don't let anyone get you down! Keep up the great work and continue to stay motivated and you will be successful.

A significant amount of it might be water.

@MauriceMoss, congratulations on your weight loss! That's a pretty cool accomplishment.
