Its a highly misleading portrayal of web browsing on 4G on the iPhone. Apple has designed it to look better than it will be. Just like how great siri is on the adverts and yet in real life it sux balls.

The UK Advertising watchdog has smacked down Apple a number of times but in the USA you can claim what ever you want without issue.

I totally disagree with that. This is an actual web page being displayed and that same page would look the same on your iPhone, which is totally different from those ads by others which note at the bottom "images simulated" or something.

As for Siri, she responds just as depicted in the ads. The fact that you then expect her to do X and Y, and she doesn't, is not a fair critique. (You didn't provide detail, so I'm just guessing at your criticism - feel free to elaborate.)

Having a company make a special webpage for an iphone advert does not show how the iphone handles webpages on 4G or the iPhone. Its made to look better at its job than it is.

Also siri sucks because the voice recognition doesnt work as advertised. Its hit and miss and Apple still claims its a beta for a good reason, because its awful.

You have to be kidding. They're absolutely entitled to show best-scenario kind of situations to promote their products. That's what advertisers do! If it's an actual video of an actual webpage on an actual iPhone, they've done nothing wrong here.

There are grey areas for sure, like when McDonalds spends hours meticulously recreating a burger for a photo shoot, then touches it up, etc. I think that's stepping pretty close to the line of deception… but to their credit, they finally released a video which is very open about this process.

Now this is how websites should be maybe once flash is finally gone we will see more of these.

But HOW doesn't it work as advertised? You're not providing any detail.

The only website that will render a page as good looking and neat as that one is the one Apple had made by that company.

The rest of the web looks crap on the tiny 3.5 or 4" screen.

Heck its not even the mobile site its the desktop URL. i bet it looks shocking on a desktop browser now!

Apples marketing is full of lies and makes its products seem better than they are.

So Apple wanted a website made to look better than it normally would on the browser! Classic.

No, the actual site looks almost identical, only difference is they replaced some of the adverts and removed the social media links.

I think you will find that it has more to do with misleading consumers to think that all webpages look as neat as that on an iPhone.

Real site looks just as good as the advert, special version only has the social media links removed and adverts replaced with non advertising images.

HAHA YEH RIGHT!

That webpage takes up the middle third of my screen and 2/3 of my screen is unused!!!!! CLASSIC!

Its clearly optimised for the piddly little narrow screen of the iPhone.

What a Joke. You people are blind to the tricks.

On the desktop maybe, I just went on my iPhone 4 and it filled the screen width as depicted in the screen grab above...

That makes no sense. The entire web looks the same whether on the iPhone used in Apple's ads or on my iPhone.

Your whole point seems to be that the web doesn't look the same on small screens as on large screens. Uh....OK.
