I am on a Telstra 5G plan now and have 5g on not auto, not seeing any difference in battery drain, getting better streaming and less drop outs though travelling around.
Only an extra $5 a month with 180gb data than what i was paying.

Paying Telstra so you can use their 5G network should be a crime. 🙄 only telco in Australia that charge their customers to use 5G.

Lmao!!! Always looking to make a quick buck, reckon once you start using it, you’ll find it hard to sell the best phone on the planet.

Hellstra and free 5G, yeah right it’s not April fools day yet lol.

It works for me here. I admit I did wait until after my network got 5G in my area before I upgraded. It’s very strange though. Close to the town centre and in the town centre I get 5G. In my house I get 5G at the front and 4G at the back. There’s no extra charge for 5G with my network.

I don’t think they’d be able to justify charging extra for it considering how it’s only really available in cities. My contract is actually cheaper by £3 a month compared to the last one and this one has 5G. A bit useless to me though as 4G is still patchy all these years on so my expectations for 5G are very low.

I really need 5g for when I stream 4k video in original quality from Plex, Emby, or Jellyfin!

4g lte barely does it. This is not compressed 4k like with Netflix though. It is owned ripped Blu Rays.

Mine is £10 cheaper than my 11 pro max contract. Then I was able to get discount through my job so I’m paying about £20 less than I was paying for my 11 pro max.

My iPhone 12 has never connected to 5G in the 4 months I’ve had it lol.
I get it at home and all of my 60k city. Not that I need it at home have 1000/50 nbn. 5G makes a difference streaming, faster connection and smother with CarPlay.
Seems to be better in poor areas too.

How do you know for sure you have 5g if you don't have a 5g phone yet?

Is it even possible ?

Is it safer to use 4g lte or 5g at work or wifi ? If your work even allows to use their wifi.
