Do you guys have tinted screens or screens turning yellow near the bottom?
No. Mine is a bit more yellow or "warm" (as they like to say) over all compared to my 3g, but of course when the 3g's first came out there was complaints about the screen too.
My screen color is great on my 926.
My 925 is perfect
I have a 923 with an excellent screen. Which weeks are supposedly having issues?
got a 924 with perfect screen
Is this an issue only on the 3GS? And what are the 923-926 numbers explaining?
I have a week 925..
Definitely warmer than my 3G but does not look yellow. In fact, my 3G looks a little "pink" now in comparison.
I confirmed this by looking at photos i had on both devices.....photos on 3G makes everyone looks like they have red rashes on my skin, but on the 3GS skin tones are much more normal.
Overall, 3GS screen is more warm, perhaps a little more washed out but better color reproduction. 3G is more contrasty, a little more cool/pink, and perhaps oversaturated.
I have a week 921, perfect screen..
928 with no yellowing of the screen.
My 923 has a perfect screen too...
What number are you using to find this out? Where is it located?
mine is considerably yellow - 925
923 with no yellowing at all. my screen is more bluish than anything.
No yellow for me and mines 925.
My week 25 is perfect.....no yellow tint!
9 is the build year (2009) and the second two digits are the week.
Its the serial number (setting -> general -> about). The third digit is the year, the fourth and fifth are the week.
These theories are pointless. My 923 is very "white," and my wife's 923 is very yellow.
Mine is a 24 and I compared my 3G and 3GS side by side and to my eyes they both look the same form the lowest to highest setting.
One thing I did notice is that the Auto-Brightness on the 3GS has a much greater affect then on the 3G.
My 925 is warm overall, but completely uniform. My 926 on the other hand is mostly cool, but has a yellow portion near the bottom of the screen.
I have a 924. It's perfectly white with a tiny bit of yellowing at the bottom of the screen... as with my 2008 MBP.
Bring on OLED i say.
926 and mine is pure white
921 and pure white
922, slight yellowing towards the bottom of the screen. If it wasn't for the threads about it, I probably wouldn't have noticed.
Don't think it's even worth exchanging as everything else is perfect.
EDIT : Now it's becoming obsessive to look at the yellowing of the screen . I think I might have to call O2 up tomorrow and get a exchange
... Anyone else has success with this ?
My first 3G S was noticeably yellow. Weird while it's suppose to make the colors warm, it made it appear more washed out.
Got it replaced at the Apple Store yesterday, and the current one is also warm but not as bad as the original one.
