This poll is SPECIFICALLY for those normal "die-hard" Apple fans/buyers who normally buy most Apple products the day they are released. Recently, I have gotten the Verizon iPhone 4, iPhone 5, iPhone 5S, New iPad and iPad w/ Retina Display on launch day with all but the iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 by camping out the night before.

My question to you all is how are you buying it this year. With Apple allowing same day, in store pickup of the iPad Air, are you just going to reserve yours at 12:01AM PST and then head to your local apple store just before 8AM to pick it up, or are you still going to camp out the night before just because it is fun and you like doing it.

My only fear with tonight/ tomorrow morning is that I'm going to be camping out all night and then find out tomorrow morning that all of my stores stock has been sold to those people who reserved them at midnight pst. Thoughts?
 
I'm waiting for the mini retina, which I think i'll enjoy and appreciate more, especially considering the fact that I preferred my original mini over my retina iPad.

And I will wait a few days first to make sure there aren't any common significant defects or flaws before I go buy it.
 
I am not 100% sure. I may wait in line at Best Buy or reserve at a local Apple store.
 
Best Buy, 7:30am on line if there is one. I might stopped there tonight to inquire about availability. Most everyone there knows me at my local store.
 
Gonna stay up till midnight, place the order for in-store pickup, and swing by in the evening tomorrow after work to get it (or Sat morning if I can't get up there tomorrow).
 
My choice is not in the poll. I expect to reserve online at my convenience when I wake up at my normal time (6:30 AM east coast) and pick it up from the store around lunch time or so.

Why is there a need to stay up till the wee hours, if supply is plentiful. Reserve on line in the morning when you wake up. Right?
 
I'm curious how people's stores are doing it, are Wal Marts selling them at midnight tonight? Are any stores doing waiting lists or does Apple not allow that like with the 5s? I want to get an Air at a store tomorrow but I'm trying to figure out what is the easiest way to do it and if stores are likely to be well stocked.

Are we confident that ordering at 12am PST means that you will be able to pick up in store at 8am? I thought I'd read something that said ordering at 12amPST for in store pickup would mean you could only pick up after noon on launch day. :confused:

You said the day they are released, not within the first hour.

I don't care if I have an iPad within the first hour. but I plan to get one tomorrow.

I'm planning on trying Walmart first at midnight. My local store confirmed that they have the 16GB silver model that I want.

If someone beats me to it, I will order one for in-store pick up at 2:01 AM, since I am in the Central time zone, and then pick up after work around 6:30 PM on Friday.

Walmart near me has the 16 and 32 gb in White and the 128 gb in Black. Not selling at midnight. Best Buy opens at 8AM. Closest Apple Store to me is about 300 miles away.
