I tried it out today, and I must say my impressions are mixed. The resolution and quality is obviously higher than my 14" MacBook Pro's webcam, but I wouldn't say it made me look better with that sharper quality. I also felt like the focal length or something was more flattering on the MacBook's camera vs the iPhone - but I don't know enough about cameras to substantiate that. You know how selfies can make your facial proportions a little weird, and photos other people take from a distance make you look more like you actually look? It seemed a little weird in that direction using continuity camera.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? I don't know enough about cameras to make any claims - I'm just interested in how people are finding it. Cheers.

I love it. I use it every (word) day. I got a tripod magsafe mount for my desk.

I used the Camo app before Continuity.

I've noticed that having higher video quality and a good microphone makes it easier for other people to understand you and pick up on nuance that is often lost during video calls.

Love it, I have been using EpocCam Pro for a while. Still keeping it for my Windows computer, even macOS don't need it anymore.

Good to know. Can’t wait to try it.

Continuity does not replace CAMO. I use Camo for recording video presentations with two iPhones for having the speaker in a window with the powerpoint behind. Continuity is only for using zoom for personal webcam.

Loving it, or at least liking it a lot. Like some others, I've used Camo in the past. I still like some of the tweaks that Camo offers better but this is native, which is worth something.

I'm using the new Belkin mount and really like that a lot. The magnet is almost annoyingly strong. The clip works perfectly on my 2021 16" MBP. And contrary to some predictions/complaints, hanging an iPhone 14 Pro Max on the lid of my Mac has no effect on its position at all.

It works really well but for one app I use fairly regularly: Loom

I've written the company, no news yet.

It would be nice if you could capture video with iMovie or Final Cut Pro directly. But currently that does not seem to work. QuickTime Player (they should rename that, given that it records as well) works with it.

Does anyone know how to set the default camera? We use Teamflow and it seems to think that the iPhone camera is the "Same as system" (i.e. default) camera. I can manually set Teamflow to use the MBP camera, it just seems odd that there are no camera controls in the System Settings. I have tried setting FaceTime to use the MBP camera, but it makes no difference.

This is Apple circumnavigating around poor Mac cameras with sleight of hand.
Ah no....this is Apple allowing you to use the good cameras of an iPhone. Putting iPhone quality cameras in a macbook would need a lot fatter screen and result in a beefier and heavier machine. Is that what you want? Or are you just being negative for the sake of being negative?

I used it once, disconnected, and now wirelessly my iPhone is missing from the input devices, doesn't look like its going to return anytime soon, as everything I've tried hasn't brought it back .

I used it for the first time today, for a Teams meeting with my Uni colleagues.

I've got a 2020 Intel MBA and the built-in webcam is crap, especially when it's dark. I've duck-taped some cardboard to the top back of my TV (out of sight, of course) and push the phone in there, landscape mode.

The Teams meeting went well, and enabling the centre stage option (iPhone 11) it tracked me as I walked around, which to be fair I only did to show the feature off to those on the call :)

I also used Airplay to push the main Teams window to my TV, but I had to turn that off initially to get Continuity Camera to work. After the camera was connected I could then re-enable Airplay.
