How are you preordering your Apple Watch?

Hey guys!

I'm getting really excited for the preorder day and launch day for the Apple Watch! (I'm getting AW Sport, Blue Band, 38mm)

Just interested as to how you peoples are going about pre ordering your own Apple Watch whether it be in store reservation, pre ordering off of apple.com & midnight, waiting in line, etc.

Also, if anyone is interested in starting a Skype group convo so we can have a cliche "Apple Watch Preorder Party" that'd be awesome!

Hope you're all as just excited as I am! :)

PS: Sorry there's no poll. I don't have the option to create a poll :p

UPDATE: It would probably be wise to have apple.com open on a few computers come pre order time as if one chokes, you have another computer there that will probably do the job. Also, the Apple Store App is known for usually working the best come pre order time as well. I don't know how...

Omg there is someone as excited as me!!! :D :D :D I'll be preordering using the Apple Store app. Is that possible or do I have to go to Apple.com? I'll be staying up until 2AM central time to order. I don't care if I have to work that day (part time lol) or have to work that day!! Im interested in that Skype party!!! Sounds
like fun!!! I'll be getting the 42mm SS with sports band :)
 
I'll be buying it online but also setting up a reservation to try one on the next day so I can make sure what I bought is the right choice. 42 mm SS with link braclet for me

You will be able to pre order using the Apple Store App (i did that with my iPad Air 2) and the Apple Store App is the one thing that usually works & preorder time as the website on PCs and stuff are usually still down. Be sure to regularly re open the app come preorder time.

I'm not.

Once Apple proves they have a truly compelling use case and they are delivering on it, then I'll consider a gen two watch.

This is the most interesting project I've seen from Apple simply because of the unknowns and the fact that theirs nothing riding on it.

They don't need the money
They don't need it to be successful
They're all but untouchable

This is the best position Apples been in during a new product launch.
 
I assume the preorders will work as they have in the past. I will possibly do in-store pick up as I have class in the morning and I'm taking the rest of the day off to play! I usually set my alarm for 2am and pre-order as soon as the store goes live. However, we still don't know what the time will be. I'd be surprised if it's different, but look forward to confirmation!

Here's a chat log from an online chat I had with an Apple Specialist as I was asking about times and in store reservations. Keep in mind, this is an Apple Store Australia expert as I'm from Australia. Copied and pasted into a word document.

True that! When I ordered my iPad Air 2, the Apple website on my Mac & PC weren't working with the same message says "We'll Be Back"

However, the Apple Store App worked straight away so I got a feeling that'll be the case with the Apple Watch preorders.
 
Can you pay with Apple Gift Cards using the Apple Store App? I don't see any option for it in the Payment section; it only has a spot for a credit card.

I'm curious about this too. We currently have $175 in Apple store gift cards from credit card rewards and would like to use them to help pay for one of our watches in three weeks.

All retailers have always been 50/50 on allowing online orders using gift cards you should use in store.

As for Apple allowing the use of gift cards for online purchases? That I don't know unfortunately.

Of the Apple Store app, which ever is working. Personally I'm going for the Space Gray 42mm Sport. I hope there are enough left as it seems to be the most popular model out of all of them.

I'm so excited to finally get the Watch in my hands. I have been waiting since Sept to get it!
 
I wanted to use the app. If it will not accept my Apple gift card then I will have to use the website.

I'm preordering a 388mm Grey Sprort online, then... at some point in the interim before it arrives, using the app to secure me a fitting of the exact model I ordered; as a preview. :)

Actually... I measured my Movado Museum Piece & it measured the same circular. It seems an amazing size for me... I hope the format change doesn't skew that too much.

Edit: my biggest concern is THICKNESS...
My Movado is quite slim & I appreciate that.

Well I'm 15 & my wrist size is 160mm so i don't see my wrists growing 50+mm in 2-3 years.

If anything, I'll get another Apple Watch maybe Gen 3 or even Gen 4 time.
