I switched from an iPhone X to an iPhone 11 when the iPhone 11 came out. I was very anxious about the screen downgrade but with Apple continuing to jack up the price of the premium phone I just couldn't afford to keep that up anymore.

The only time I notice any difference is when there is a lot of black on my screen - the screen does a terrible job of blending in with the border compared to my old X because of the LCD technology. Other than that I don't see a difference, and I welcome the lack of anxiety that comes with not having to worry so much about screen burn-in. Plus it means I was able to get my phone in purple! 😃

This is my main reason for getting the 11. iPhone models keep getting more and more expensive. Wish I could get the pro max. But just not in my budget.

I usually upgrade my iPhone every year. However I wasnt able to upgrade my iPhone last year due to having more important financial responsibilities. I was happy with my XS max. Unfortunately a month ago it fell onto my marble floors and cracked. I live in a country that charges a ridiculous amount of money for replacement devices. So I purchased an oppo Android to hold me over until I received my bonus from work.

i was thinking about getting an iPhone pro but I can’t really justify paying the price at the moment. Not interested in a xs as it’s about to be a 2 year old phone. The iPhone 11 is in my affordable price range.

But my concern is the screen will bother me as it is a lcd screen. I’ve been use to oled screen for the last 2 years and even the oppo phone I’m using has a excellent screen.

So how bad or good is the iPhone 11 screen? Does it still have decent quality Despite it not being oled.

Really depends on how you feel when you look at it, LCDs can be incredible when done right.

I currently have a Huawei P40 Lite with a 1080P LCD alongside my 11 Pro Max, and I am really impressed by the LCD Huawei put on this thing, PPI plays a great role in all of this to, the higher it is the better the crispness of images and smoothing of text.

For me the iPhone 11 is literally just out of it when I look at text, simply not as smooth as it is on my 11 Pro Max.

I always used high res high refresh OLEDs in the past and switched to the 11 and think that the Display is great. I have zero complaints.

So bad they've sold tens of millions of these phones. In fact from what I've read, I believe they said the 11 was the best selling iPhone this past year. Seriously though, it's a great phone, my son has it.

I have an X with the OLED screen. My wife has an 11. There's a difference. The OLED is obviously going to have nicer blacks. The LCD on the 11 hardly makes the phone unusable though. IMO, it's not so much nicer that you should get a different model for the OLED screen.

Strange as many of the hands on reviews state the screens are both very good. Brightness isn’t an issue on the 11 and the only time you tend to notice is when viewing videos with a lot of blacks. Don’t forget the 11 Pro Max is also £400 more. If you think it’s worth paying that for a slightly better screen, that’s up to you.

Yes it is, ive had both phones and used them side by side, if you look at your phone outside and ever in sunlight, the 11 pro is massively better.

I think the pro is worth the extra money for the brite screen alone; if you cant afford the 11 pro get the 11 or a google Pixel. Otherwise the pro and pro max screens are just amazing.

800nits vs 480ish is massive.

The 11's screen is great. I had it side by side with the OLED XS Max and there wasn't too much of a difference. \

I guess it depends what previous phone you had.

It isnt the resolution, its the amount of light that the screens give off.
I did a crap ton of testings, when you take photos, look at emails, etc if you got sunlight hitting that screen the pro i can read easily where the 11 i have to cover and shadow.

Even in indirect light, the 11 felt like it was twice as dark as the 11 pro max, while it isnt -- the 11 pro max just felt way way easier to read out having breakfast on the patio, walking around where i can control the suns direction.

Quality of life was better, but for the massive price difference is upto you.
Iphone 12 might all have the brite oled screens now too.

The OLED is always going to offer a brighter experience in sunlight but being in sunlight is a rare experience for those of us with about 2 weeks of sunshine a year lol.

It’s not just about being able to afford it but what you value. I could afford an 11 Pro if I was in the market for a new phone but in all honesty I’d probably get the 11 anyway.
